Let’s make your older years your best ones.

You’re not in your 20s anymore. You feel stiffer in the mornings, your middle is thickening, your hair is thinner, and sometimes when you look in the mirror, you feel disconnected from the person looking back. When you think about the years to come, you worry about losing mobility or memory, or dealing with chronic pain.

More than 50% of seniors in the United States suffer from daily chronic pain that limits and isolates them. Over 40% are obese, which often leads to decreased muscle mass and increased risk for injury. Rates of dementia have increased.
Aging can feel like an endless list of losses. Unfortunately, mainstream culture tells us that these changes are just part of “getting older.” But what if that’s not the whole story? What if aging could be filled with freedom, resilience, and joy?

I’m Carol Tuttle, and in my late 60s, I’m healthier, more energetic, and more engaged with life than I was in my 50s.

But it wasn’t always this way. Back then, I was dealing with chronic lower back pain, In my 50s, I started to experience vivid pain in my feet, legs, and lower back. My father suffered from chronic foot pain, so I knew the issue was generational and had the potential to last the rest of my life. The pain became so debilitating that I couldn’t walk any significant distance without an electric scooter and I feared I would have to end my professional career just to deal with it. I was terrified of ending up like my father, who passed away with chronic pain.

The fear of being inactive and unable to engage with my family—especially my 15 grandchildren—was overwhelming.

Adding to this, my husband Jon suffered a massive stroke On top of all this, my husband Jon suffered a massive stroke at 55, which left him with aphasia, requiring him to relearn how to talk and write. This compounded my fears and added to the stress I already felt. I started looking and feeling much older than I was. Lifelong depression reared its head.

Even though the challenges and pain seemed inevitable, we decided to take charge of our health and well-being, determined to age differently.

Now, in our late 60s, both my husband and I are healed. We wake up in the morning, able to move, work, and play in the ways we want to. We are active with our grandchildren. Our minds are sharp. We know firsthand that getting older doesn’t mean giving up the activities that you love.
